Back To Health is a wellness clinic in Tijeras, NM, a small East mountain community which offers a calming, restful atmosphere for healing. We offer Acupuncture, Chinese Herbology, Facial Rejuvination, and Therapeutic Massage. Dr. Anna Gurule is owner and practitioner of Back To Health, and Melanie Cotton, certified massage therapist, has been with us since it's opening.

Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine originated in China more than 3000 years ago. It is based on the belief that health is determined by a balanced flow of qi (pronounced chee), the vital life energy present in living organisms. According to acupuncture theory, qi circulates in the body along twelve major energy pathways, called meridians, each linked to specific internal organs and organ systems.

There are over one thousand acupoints within the meridian system that can be stimulated to enhance the flow of qi. When special needles are inserted into these acupoints (just under the skin), they help correct and rebalance the flow of energy and consequently relieve pain and/or restore health (hence the name, Back To Health).

Chinese herbs have been used for thousands of years to treat a multitude of ailments.

Unlike western drugs which treat the symptoms and have many side effects, chinese herbs treat the underlying condition and rarely cause unwanted side effects.

We like to prescribe herbs to augment our acupuncture treatments to get longer lasting relief.
We sell a variety of herbs, vitamins, supplements, and linaments, as well.
