Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine and Functional Medicine
Women's Health, Fertility, Chronic Conditions, Autoimmune
I have a clinical Doctoral degree in Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture with a specialty in Women's Health as well as Pain Management from ACTCM in San Francisco. A large focus of my practice is devoted to fertility, pregnancy, and OB Gyn as well as postpartum. I love supporting the cycle of conception to baby!

I also have a big interest in functional medicine, and also treat emotional issues, digestive disorders, and chronic pain. I work with a lot of chronic conditions and autoimmune disorders.

I am also including weight loss and facial rejuvenation in my areas of expertise after completing many hours of training in China.

I really believe in Integrative Medicine and functional medicine and believe in a natural approach to treating the body. Total health includes a healthy body and mind and I feel that treatments should aim to balance that. I use acupuncture and herbs as my way of attaining that balance to bring each individual to their utmost health.
Bio
I am a doctor and a licensed acupuncturist in the state of California with a clinical Doctorate degree and a Master's of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine. I practice traditional Chinese Medicine, which includes acupuncture, herbal medicine, tui na (manipulative massage) as well as cupping and moxibustion.

I have been practicing in San Francisco since 2002, first working at Quan Yin Center of Healing Arts and in my own private practice. I have also had many community and volunteer acupuncture positions. I have worked at the Tenderloin Aids Resource Center, Mission Neighborhood Resource Center, as well as regular volunteering for the Asian and Pacific Islander Wellness Center Health Days.

I also spent more than a year volunteering at the Potrero Hill Community Clinic, trying to establish an alternative in community medicine. I am devoted to helping the community whenever I can and really enjoy volunteering.

As part of my fertility and reproductive medicine training, I spent many months interning at Pacific Fertility Center, learning the intricacies of In Vitro Fertilization and Assisted Reproductive techniques during my doctoral program.

The last nine years we were in Glen Park but have recently
moved to Oakland to a much bigger and beautiful integrative center!

Education/Training
I have a background in Science Medicine and graduated from U.C. Berkeley with a Bachelor's in Medical Anthropology which I obtained after studying pre-medicine courses. After realizing that I wanted to pursue a different approach to healing, I subsequently attended a four year Master's program for Chinese Medicine. This opened my eyes to the four thousand year old medicine that has more than withstood the test of time. After receiving my license for acupuncture in California, I studied in Shanghai, China for 7 months, in various hospitals, and specialized in various areas of medicine. I had a private practice for many years before completing my clinical doctorate degree.
