Thank you for viewing my page. I am currently traveling SE Asia, Australia and New Zealand through the middle of June. I will be back on the Outer Banks, NC the first of July. I will be taking appointments from this point on for the summer months.

Bio
Heather Geoghegan’s heart is guided by an inner compass. In the last decade, her love of travel has led her to more than 30 countries, including all of southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand, most of Europe, Costa Rica, the U.S. Virgin Islands and the list goes on. She spends half of each year seeing the world, and always returns to the Outer Banks, her home base of the 25 years, where she works as an acupuncturist and massage therapist.

Heather Geoghegan received her Master's of Oriental Medicine and Acupuncture degree from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in Portland, OR in September 2005. She completed an accelerated program consisting of three years of coursework comprised of 3,146 total hours, of these, 948 hours were devoted to clinical studies, for which 203 quarter credits were granted.

She was initially trained in massage therapy at Fuller School of Massage in Virginia Beach, VA in 1999. Following her massage training she practiced as a full time therapist in private practice.

Heather's acupuncture training includes adjuncive therapies such as tuina (Chinese manipulative therapy), cupping, acupressure, auriculotherapy, moxibustion and dietary and lifestyle changes.

Heather is a registered acupuncturist in the state of North Carolina. In addition she is certified by the NCCAOM as a Diplomat of Acupuncture.

The practice of acupuncture is regulated by the North Carolina Acupuncture Licensing Board, located at 893 US Hwy, 70 west Suite 202, Garner, NC 27529. The practice of acupuncture in North Carolina does not authorize a person to practice medicine and surgery in this state. The services of an acupuncturist must not be regarded as diagnosis and treatment by a person licensed to practice medicine and must not be regarded as medical opinion or advice.

In order to insure the safety of our clients, we use only pre-sterilized, disposable needles.
