Your Journey to Better Health and Happiness begins here!
The story of the lotus flower

The lotus flower’s life begins as a root buried under murky waters. Despite such unwelcoming conditions, the lotus grows through murky waters becomes a beautiful and pure flower.

Like the lotus flower's power to grow out from adversity, your mind, body and spirit has the innate power and knowledge to heal itself from illnesses and dis-eases.

Our goal is to assist you in this process with Chinese Medicine. In Chinese Medicine, dis-ease forms when there are imbalances in the body, mind and spirit. Chinese medicine brings balance and harmony through acupuncture, herbal medicine, nutritional counseling, and other modalities such as cupping, Gua Sha, Tui Na and moxabustion. It treats the root, which is the cause of a dis-ease, as well as the symptoms. Without taking care of the root, the symtoms will keep reoccuring.

Because every person has a different constitution, living environment, lifestyle, and belief system, we are dedicated to working with your individual needs for a healthier mind, body and spirit.
Renee Chan is a native of Hong Kong. Her family immigrated to the US when she was 15 years old. She attended boarding school in Winston-Salem, NC, and received her Bachelor of Arts in Architecture with a minor in graphic communications from Lehigh Univeristy, PA.

She started her career as a graphic designer/art director and had worked in a number of advertising companies, both large 4A companies as well as small local companies. After becoming sick every month during her one of her stressful jobs, she became interested in finding out the reasons for her declining health. Around the same time, she decided to pursue a career that would provide a nurturing, non-toxic environment, and also a career that grows with experience and maturity.

After her very last design job, she worked for a holistic doctor for two years, and discovered the joy of witnessing patients heal. During that time, she learned about Neurofeedback, BioCranial Therapy, Trigger Point Therapy, Naturopathic medicine, Guided Imagery and Vedic Astrology. She understands and believes that different modalities can work synergistically to the benefit of a patient.

Her decision to pursue a career in Chinese Medicine is due to the fact that it is a holistic medicine and also a medicine of a culture that she has affinity to.

Renee received her Masters in Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine from American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Apart from her internship at the ACTCM Community Clinic, she has also interned at the ACTCM Community Ear Clinic and the Haight Ashbury Free Clinic. She has also completed the Advanced Clinic Internship program at Zhejiang University of Chinese Medicine in Hang Zhou, China, where she studied with doctors specializing in Internal Medicine, Dermatology, Gynegology and Acupuncture.

Renee's background in Chinese culture has helped her tremendously in understanding the depths of Chinese Medicine. She feels joy and honored in accompanying her patients in their healing journeys.
