Adachi Acupuncture & Herb Clinic
Pain Specialized Acupuncture
Flatiron, New York
Adachi Acupuncture & Herb Clinic locates Chelsea/Flatiron District in New York.
The lead practitioner of the clinic, Masayuki "Masa" Adachi, combined the world-renowned Dr. Tan’s Balance Method and Japanese Meridian Palpation Technique to establish his own acupuncture method specializing in chronic pain. Using his method, Masa identifies the root problem and then treat the symptoms.
Adachi Acupuncture & Herb Clinic was established for chronic pain specialized acupuncture method incorporating Dr. Tan’s Balance Method and the Japanese Meridian Palpation technique. What makes our acupuncture distinctive is that we don't put needles where the problems are. That's because ”the area of pain is NOT necessarily the source of the problem.” That explains why 85% of the causes of lower back pain are unknown in conventional medicine. In our treatment, we will identify the ”sick meridian” that causes the pain physically and mentally and put needles to the specific points to treat the root problem. Most patients experience changes in the pain location and its size soon after needles are inserted, and the pain improves.
We also successfully treat a wide range of conditions such as:
- Lower back pain
- Neck & Shoulder pain
- Headaches
- Numbness in extremities
- Fibromyalgia
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Insomnia
- Stress management
- Auto-Immune disease
- Allergy
- Digestive disorders
- Infertility

Masa began his carrier as a healer in 2001. He started as a Shiatsu therapist, and that experience sparked his interest in Eastern medicine, a holistic approach to treatment, not just symptomatic treatment. Through its experience, he realized his true passion and ability to heal people and decided to pursue a career as an acupuncturist.
Masa focuses on the person rather than the disease, particularly the mind state over the physical condition. Seemingly, an identical set of symptoms can come from different root problems. Therefore, the treatment is based on unique pattern strengthens, weakness, and symptom presentation.
Masa created his distinctive style of acupuncture, which integrates well-known worldwide Dr. Tan’s Balance Method with the Japanese Palpation Techniques. This combined method is a simple yet effective system of acupuncture that achieves rapid clinical results. Most patients experience immediate pain relief soon after needles are inserted. Furthermore, his in-depth knowledge and use of herbal medicine and expert training in the Japanese Seitai (Osteopath) method can successfully treat a wide range of conditions other than pain.
Masa also specializes in anxiety, stress, fibromyalgia, allergy, auto-immune disease, and digestive disorders.
Masa sees only one patient at a time to maintain the high quality of his treatment and makes every effort to obtain the best results in each case.
